Meet Aubrey
Nickname: Aub/Aubs
Astrological Sign: Taurus
Favorites
Favorite Colors: Greens, foresty, mossy kinds and hot pink!
Favorite Movies: Or what movies inspire you? Not a movie but I really love watching old TV shows like Dick Van Dyke Show and All in the Family.
For movies though, it’s so hard, so I guess I’ll say what I go back to and rewatch the most, movies like Fried Green Tomatoes, Knotting Hill and But I’m a Cheerleader. I just want a sweet story and something character driven. Or any movie about dogs.

Favorite Bands:
I think anything pop punk will always be my favorite. I got to see Avril Lavigne this summer and it was truly my high school self’s dream come true. Also I’m quickly becoming a Chappell stan, really anything I can yell the lyrics too with my friends.
Song:
I have to go with Aubrey by Bread. I really tried to put down something else but I would just be lying. It’s my song! My parents named me after it. It’s sweet and sad and who doesn’t love a 70s ballad.
Favorite Foods:
Hot Pot! It’s warm, spicy and you can throw whatever you have in it! And it’s always good!
Favorite Places To Eat:
Sally’s! Apizza, New Haven Pizza is definitely the best pizza.
But if are talking Portland, I love Dirty Lettuce or my biggest guilty pleasure has to be Rimsky-Korsakoffee its an all dessert spot, open late and I can walk to it…
Favorite Places On Earth:
Kelsey Island! Its basically just a big sandbar, about a 45 minute kayak ride from the town beach where I grew up but it is the best place to paddle to in the summer and pretend you’re on your own private island.
Deep Dive
3 people to have dinner with? They can be dead or alive? Why?

I really love to read, so figured I would go with three authors I have been enjoying lately. Jane Austen is always a favorite, Brandon Sanderson has been so much fun to dive into especially since he’s go so so many books. And TJ Klune just has such fun sweet stories!
What are you most proud of?
I’ve been lucky to have gotten the chance to work on some really fun projects but I think its always my favorite when I take a really nice photo of a friend or family member.
What is something you want to work on?
To be less self conscious especially with my work. Let myself be more creative without all the second guessing. Easier said than done though.
What is something you dream of doing? Work? Personal? Both?
Ski, Skate, Surf!
Start at Mt. Hood, stop for a skate along the way and then end the day at the coast to surf. I have really been wanting to do this for a few years but this is the year I know it! And of course take photos along the way!

Why do you edit?
I want to tell stories that are both empathetic and compelling. My path into editing was a bit unconventional. I studied political science in school and later pursued a master’s in photojournalism, aiming to learn how to share stories in ways that resonate with people. And I have realized that I’m most drawn to the process and technical aspects of video editing.
Anything you want to share? Promote? Highlight? What are we missing... what should we (the world) know?
Come skate with me! I help run a local skate meetup group and our insta is @PAWWSk8
